Mandatory Time-Bound Sections in NEET-SS 2024 Question Papers: Important Update
In a recent notification, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced significant changes to the structure of NEET-SS 2024, in line with efforts to fortify the security and integrity of computer-based exams. These changes will apply to all NBEMS MCQ-based examinations, including NEET-PG, NEET-MDS, NEET-SS, FMGE, DNB-PDCET, GPAT, DPEE, FDST, and FET, as mentioned in their notice dated 4th May 2024.
Key Changes for NEET-SS 2024:
- Introduction of Mandatory Time-Bound Sections: The NEET-SS 2024 question paper will now be divided into three sections—Section A, Section B, and Section C. Each section will contain 50 questions, with a strict time limit of 50 minutes allocated for completion.
- No Review or Modification After Time Completion: Candidates will be unable to move on to the next section until the time allotted for the current section has expired. Once the time for a section is completed, candidates will not be allowed to review or modify their responses. The next section will automatically begin once the previous section’s time has concluded.
- Demo Test Availability: To help candidates prepare, a demo test will be available on the NBEMS website. The demo test can be accessed under the NEET-SS 2024 Application Link webpage starting from 20th March 2025.
These new measures are aimed at enhancing the sanctity and security of the examination process, addressing emerging threats, and ensuring a fair and streamlined testing experience for all candidates.
For further details, candidates are advised to regularly check the official NBEMS website for updates.
